Our Mission
Our mission is to make Christ known. Christ is the only hope for lost sinners. Only He can redeem dead souls and transform them by the power of His Spirit. Our need for Christ is no less after conversion than before. Every day we need His grace and must live in communion with Him lest we become fruitless. Without Christ we suffer – as individuals, as families, and as a nation. We seek to point to Him, for He must increase and we must decrease.
We attempt to make Christ known by our words and actions as individuals, testifying to the reason for our hope. Where many despise Christ it is easy for Christians to retreat to safety. This response is opposite to what we should do. We must make Him known. The predominant method for showing Christ is through the preaching of the Word of God and so we seek to invite others to come and hear from God Himself.
What We Believe
In Short
God
In one God, who exists as three different but equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Bible
That the Bible is the Word of God, and that there is no better guide on earth as to what we should believe and how we should live our lives.
Men & Women
That everyone is born a sinner, and as such is subject to God’s wrath and the punishment of death, which means eternal separation from God in Hell.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, alone paid the penalty for sin and as such is the only Redeemer of men. Having risen from the grave Jesus Christ now resides in Heaven from where He rules the nations until the day of His glorious return, a day which will usher in His judgement.
Getting to Heaven
Repentance of sin and turning in faith to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour is the only way of salvation from the wrath of God and His ultimate eternal punishment.
Being a Christian
That is the duty of Christians by the help of the Holy Spirit to strive to put to death sin and to live a life of glory based on what God has written in His Word.

Our beliefs are summarised more thoroughly in the Westminster Standards. All of our ministers, elders, and deacons confess these doctrines as their own personal faith without qualification or mental reservation.
Our Leadership
After his ordination in 1991, he ministered in the Free Church of Scotland congregations of Scalpay, Toronto, Stornoway and Dowanvale (Glasgow) and, since 2011, he ministered in the newly planted Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church before becoming minister of the Stornoway Reformed Presbyterian Church in 2022.
He is married to Anna – previously a chemist, teacher and now part-time carer – who comes from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and have a family of five and three grandchildren.
